We Are TAGET

Background

TAGET (Tanzania Green Environment Treasure) is a non-governmental organization (NGO) established in June 2023, focused on maintaining, protecting, and preserving marine and land environments in response to the growing challenges posed by climate change. The organization has undertaken a wide range of environmental activities such as planting trees, cleaning beaches, and collaborating with local communities and institutions to create lasting positive environmental impacts.

From its inception, TAGET has initiated several impactful projects. Notably, it planted over 100,000 mangrove trees between January and March 2024, worked on cleaning public spaces such as markets and health centers, and restored greenery in government offices and schools. In September 2023, TAGET collaborated with public and private institutions, including the Tanga City office, financial banks (NBC, CRDB, and NMB), and private companies like TEA, Tayota, Sisalana, and Anjary, to celebrate World Cleanliness Day. The goal was to raise awareness about the importance of maintaining a clean and healthy environment.
